Pebble Time is the newest smartwatch launched on the market, it being produced by the company Pebble, its production being financed by users through Kickstarter. Pebble launched this morning a campaign to finance Pebble Time, and in just a few hours it raised 1 million dollars from users interested in it, double what it needed. Pebble Time comes with a color e-paper screen, a thinner case, a microphone and a completely redesigned interface to display information to users more efficiently than in the case of the old models.
According to Pebble, Pebble Time has a battery autonomy of 7 days with a single charge, 7 times higher than in the case of the future Apple Watch which is to be launched by the Apple company. Separately, Pebble Time is water resistant, and one of its main strengths is the price of only $200 at which it is currently announced to be put on sale. If all those who support financing now will pay between $159 and $179 for the product, Pebble Time will have a much higher price at the time of launch and probably many will not be happy about this.
Pebble Time will offer a multitude of options for customization and will certainly attract the interest of a very large number of people, but it remains to be seen how it will fare against the Apple Watch.
