Pebble Time – the golden smartwatch that takes on the Apple Watch

Pebble Time gold

Pebble Time Steel was launched during this day by the company Pebble following a successful round for financing the future SmartWatch Pebble Time, and in the image above you have one of the new models. This is the gold model of the Pebble Time and as you can see from the picture, it looks quite similar to the Apple Watch Edition, Apple's gold watch. From the strap to the case, the two smartwatches share a multitude of similarities, but of course the biggest difference will be the selling price.

Pebble Time Steel is going to cost $299, $50 less than the cheapest Apple Watch Sport sold by Apple, so you will be able to buy a gold smartwatch at a fairly low price. According to official information, Pebble Time Steel is to be delivered to supporters starting in July, but of course Pebble has not yet managed to meet its product delivery deadlines. The interesting part of Pebble Time Steel is the inclusion of support for the so-called Smart Straps, or smart bracelets, which can improve the functionality of the product in various ways.

More precisely, these Smart Straps will allow the connection of biometric sensors, a GPS, some batteries and several accessories of this kind to improve the functionality of the watch. These smart bracelets will be sold by various manufacturers of accessories for smartwatches, and this functionality gives Pebble a huge advantage over the Apple Watch. Despite the fact that the gold Pebble Time looks like the Apple Watch Edition, to be honest, if given the choice, I would prefer a gold Pebble watch with the option to mount smart bracelets.
