iPhone 6 was chosen smartphone of the year at MWC 2015

gsma awards

Mobile World Congress 2015 is coming to an end, and last night the GSMA announced the winners of the annual awards given at this conference, iPhone 6 being awarded the title of smartphone of the year. It is placed on an equal footing with the LG G3, GSMA offering the title of the two smartphones based on very good performance, design and sales recorded on global markets. In the case of iPhone 6, the jury considered that all the improvements implemented by Apple, from design to hardware and implicit performance, give the terminal features that recommend it for the award, but do not give it an advantage over the LG G3.

iPhone 6 isn't simply bigger — it's better in every way. Larger, yet dramatically thinner. More powerful, but remarkably power efficient. With a smooth metal surface that seamlessly meets the new Retina HD display. With all round improvements, from designs, to specs, to functionality yet remaining true to the core this proposition offers unparalleled performance and unmatched consumer success.

Apple has won at least one award from the GSMA almost every year, and this year it was not awarded in the tablet category, Microsoft Surface Pro 3 receiving the attention of those in Barcelona thanks to the innovations implemented by the Microsoft company. Samsung did not do better in any respect, the Korean company being awarded for the KNOX security system, but none of its mobile terminals received the appreciation of the jury.
