Apple Watch - low optimism about sales

Apple Watch sales 2015

The Apple Watch will be presented on March 9 by the Apple company and if the rumors that have appeared so far are true, then the launch will take place at the beginning of next month. Apple Watch will be launched initially in the US and then in Europe, and the most recent data on sales estimates do not herald a resounding future for Apple's watch. According to the analysis agency Strategy Analytics, Apple Watch could generate sales of 15.4 million units in the first year of availability, almost half of previous estimates.

As you can see from the table above, Apple should sell more smartwatches than all manufacturers combined, having a market share of 54.8%. The interesting part of this estimate is that it predicts a 7-fold increase in smartphone sales, mainly thanks to the Apple Watch, Apple's competitors expecting the product to increase their sales. In total, in 2015 it is estimated that 28.1 million smartwatches will be sold, much more than the 4.7 million - 6.8 million units sold last year.

It's hard to say if the Apple Watch will manage to generate so much interest in smartwatches, but it will be interesting to see how the market will evolve throughout the year.
