MacBook Air 11 inch and 13 inch were updated on Monday by the Apple company, the new models having faster Intel Broadwell processors, but the latter model also benefits from an upgrade on the performance side of the storage medium. Apple claims that the MacBook Air 13 inch 2015 has an SSD what is it 2 times faster than that of the MacBook Air 11 inch 2015, and this was confirmed last night. After MacBook Air 11 inch and 13 inch disassembly it was discovered that the second model uses a PCI-E SSD produced by Samsung which is controlled by a Samsung controller.

Instead, the MacBook Air 11 inch 2015 has a standard Sandisk SSD controlled by a Marvell controller, its transfer speeds being halved, and the performance difference between them is perfectly normal. The MacBook Air 13 inch 2015 has average read speeds of up to 1285 MB/s and average write speeds of up to 630 MB/s, while the MacBook Air 11 inch 2015 has speeds in half in all cases. Apple sells MacBook Air 13 inches at the price of 1029 dollars in the basic version, and the performances offered for this product are clearly superior to those available so far.
