Steve Jobs didn't want a TV, he intended to buy Yahoo!

Steve Jobs almost

Last night I told you that Tim Cook wanted to donate part of his liver to Steve Jobs, the information coming from a biographical book called Becoming Steve Jobs, it being written based on many testimonies of people close to the former Apple CEO. Today we learn some new information, Tim Cook stating that during the 13 years of collaboration with Steve Jobs, the former CEO only yelled at him 4 or 5 times, a sign that the relationship between the two was extremely close.

Moving on, it seems that Steve Jobs did not want Apple to ever produce a television, despite the contrary information from various other sources and the only authorized biography. Moreover, Steve Jobs intended to enter into a partnership with the CEO of Disney, Bog Iger, to buy the company Yahoo! mainly for its search engine, the purchase allowing a distance from Google.

IT WAS A STRIKING PIECE OF OUT-OF-THE-BOX INDUSTRIAL DESIGN THINKING. JONY AND HIS TEAM HAD PLACED THE GUTS OF A TOP-OF-THE-LINE LAPTOP INSIDE A SVELTE AND SLIGHTLY CURVED VERTICAL SLAB, WHICH HAD ON THE TOP HALF OF ITS SURFACE A COLOR LCD MONITOR, AND ON THE BOTTOM HALF A VERTICAL CD- ROM DRIVE, ALL OF WHICH WAS FRAMED BY SPECIALLY DESIGNED BOSE STEREO SPEAKERS. IT WAS PACKED WITH STATE-OF-THE-ART TECHNOLOGY, INCLUDING CABLE AND FM TUNERS AND THE CIRCUITRY NECESSARY FOR THE COMPUTER TO DOUBLE AS A TV SET OR RADIO.

Regarding the relationship with Jony Ive, various sources confirm the fact that they were extremely close, Steve Jobs being delighted by the fact that Ive has the imagination and courage to create innovative products. More precisely, Jony Ive liked Jobs because he could create products that no one thought were viable or easy to manufacture, and thanks to this ingenuity we now have the iPod, iPhone, iPad or many great Macs.

Although Steve Jobs was a fan of Jony Ive, the products that were promoted by him and were not successful did not affect his career within the company, on the contrary, his courage made him much more appreciated. The book Becoming Steve Jobs will be released on March 21 and can be pre-ordered available here.
