The European Union recommends you to give up Facebook, here's why!

European Union

Facebook is the largest social network in the world, and the European Union recently recommended its citizens to give up its use if they want to have their data viewed safely, American spy agencies having access to Facebook servers. The information was provided by one of the lawyers of the European Commission, Bernhard Schima, arguing that the private data of European citizens are not safe if they use the Facebook social network.

According to European Union officials, Facebook does not protect the private data of European citizens, American security agencies such as the NSA having access to the Facebook servers and the information stored in them, implicitly everything that has to do with the Europeans who live in the community space. According to a complaint addressed to the European Commission, the US and American companies do not comply with European legislation regarding the protection of customer data, so the transmission of confidential data to the US should be prohibited, according to some European organizations that fight for the protection of confidential data.

The European Commission has warned EU citizens that they should close their Facebook accounts if they want to keep information private from US security services, finding that current Safe Harbor legislation does not protect citizen's data. The comments were made by EC attorney Bernhard Schima in a case brought by privacy campaigner Maximilian Schrems, looking at whether the data of EU citizens should be considered safe if sent to the US in a post-Snowden revelation landscape.

The European Union brings into discussion the various espionage programs initiated by the American intelligence agencies, the NSA collecting a very large amount of the data transferred through the Internet servers located in the USA, implicitly those of the Europeans. Having said that, if you fear for the safety of your data, then it would be better to give up Facebook.
