Apple will be investigated by the US federal authorities

Company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), does not shy away from suing competitors who steal the technologies described in various patents or attack it in any other way, and the same is done by those from Ericsson, they argue that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), refuses to pay licensing fees for cellular communication technologies. More precisely, those from Ericsson sued Apple for the unauthorized use of at least 41 technologies cellular, the two companies having concluded a licensing agreement in 2008, but after its expiration in 2013, they did not reach an agreement, even after two years of negotiations, so that the action in court remained the last solution.

Apple responded to Ericsson's action through a submitted document to the court that will judge this case, the company from Cupertino claiming that Ericsson is asking excessive amounts for its LTE technologies, and of course the latter responded with a request made to the court to determine if its claims are reasonable or not. Ericsson's invention patents are part of the category of those considered to be essential standards and must have much lower licensing fees than those that do not belong to this category, the company asking Apple to pay between 250 and 750 millions of dollars annually for them, being of course refused.

Now it remains to be seen who will win the case in this process, but it is as clear as possible that Apple intends to fight seriously not to pay more than it considers necessary for these technologies, this of course to maximize the profit obtained from the sale of its mobile terminals.
