The future of iPhone cameras

future iPhone camera

Annual Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), improve the terminal rooms iPhone and offers users new options to record better quality photos, and for the future those from Cupertino plan to offer even more interesting surprises. More precisely, the Apple company plans to implement a two-camera system in its iPhone terminals in a few years that will allow you to record photos in a completely new way.

Thanks to one invention patent recently published registered company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), we learn that in the future the terminals iPhone it could have wide and telephoto cameras for recording great pictures. At the moment, only the various accessories available in the wider world for iPhone or iPad can offer such functions for users, but those from Apple have something much more interesting in their plans.

A compact telephoto lens system that may be used in a small form factor camera. The lens system may include five lens elements with refractive power. Alternatively, the lens system may include four lens elements with refractive power. At least one of the object side and image side surfaces of at least one of the lens elements is aspheric.

In the description made for the technology in its patent, the Apple company claims that separate from the normal iPhone camera, a small telephoto camera can be implemented for recording photos. In the image above you can see a possible implementation in a rather rudimentary formula, and this is because smartphones with two cameras are now sold on the market and have a more attractive format.

future iPhone 1 cameraFor such a system to be very effective, the Apple company claims that the system can have an adjustable iris or an intelligent system for adjusting the aperture, but it remains to be seen what will be achievable or not. In order to be able to implement components of this kind in the iPhone, Apple describes a telephoto system with 4 or 5 separate lenses to refract light, the idea itself being extremely complex.

Total track length (TTL) of the lens system may be 6.0 mm or less. Focal length f of the lens system may be at or about 7.0 mm (for example, within a range of 6.5-7.5 mm). Lens elements are selected and configured so that the telephoto ratio (TTL/f) satisfies the relation 0.74

Apple has multiple patents for a multitude of systems through which it can improve the way pictures are recorded using iPhone terminals, but unfortunately none of them have been transformed into reality. No one knows if this technology will ever reach Apple's iPhones, but if Apple manages to implement it, then it will certainly attract new types of consumers.

What do you think? Would an iPhone with such a photo recording system attract you more?
