iPhone 3D presented by Apple

iPad 3DiPhone with 3D screen, or iPad with 3D screen, are presented by the Apple company in a new patent granted to those from Cupertino today by the US authorities. The new types of 3D screens designed by the Apple company could display 3D content without requiring a pair of special glasses, but the American company has prepared another extremely interesting function, especially for situations where multiple people look at the screen.

Specifically, the Apple company claims that it can present different images to different people looking at the screen, a special software tracking the users' gaze to display different images depending on how they look at the screen. The different images would be displayed simultaneously for everyone, so we are talking about an extremely interesting technology that the Apple company has not presented anywhere until now.

In order to obtain such functionality, the Apple company would use multiple layers, each displaying a certain type of content for the eyes of each user, the same technology also displaying 3D images without glasses. To be able to perform all these functions, the technology would follow the users' eyes using an image sensor, and depending on the orientation of the eyes, choose the images that will be displayed.

Apple is looking into a way to provide both 3D and 2D images from the same display, without requiring any special ocular equipment like 3D glasses, according to a new patent application. The display would use gaze-tracking to serve specific images to viewers, and would be able to actually provide different images to multiple viewers at the same time.

In the idea presented by Apple, the iPhone and iPad could also allow multiple people to play games with the split screen to present each user with a completely different image. The same is available for certain portable consoles, but if Apple's claims are to be believed, then technology it is not that far from implementation in its products.

Considering that we are talking about a patent and no one knows when or if such technology will be launched, we can only appreciate the plans of Apple and nothing more.
