Apple could sell a package of bonds worth 1.62 billion dollars in Japan

Attracted by the very low interest rates in Japan, the Apple company would be interested in raising money to expand its operations in the country and to increase the dividends offered to its own shareholders, but everything is being debated for now.

Apple has already sold bond packages worth a total of 4.31 billion dollars in the last year and intends to raise another 6.5 billion dollars through a debt sale, but it remains to be seen what it will do in the end. The Apple company uses these amounts to buy back its shares or to pay dividends to its shareholders, even though it has a monetary reserve of over 170 billion dollars.

In what will be its first fundraising activity in Japan, Apple is considering issuing about 200 billion yen ($1.62 billion) in bonds as early as June. The US technology company aims to procure funds at low cost by taking advantage of rock-bottom interest rates in Japan.
