The CEO of Pandora claims that Apple Music has not affected his company

Apple Music investigation senatorApple Music was launched on June 30 by the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),and Pandora is one of the competing services that was believed to suffer seriously following the appearance of the Apple service.

Reality has so far demonstrated that Pandora was not affected by the release Apple Music, its CEO claiming in the recent conference to announce the financial results that the Apple service did not have any impact for Pandora, at least until now.

Apple launched Apple Music at the end of Q2 2015 to have a full fiscal quarter of its existence, and although Pandora there was no way to be affected in a single day after the appearance of the service to announce something now, its CEO claims that in the past period since then and until now, nothing significant has happened with his product.

Although Apple Music does not seem to have affected Pandora in its short existence, the CEO of the American company claims that in the long term it is not expected that Apple's product will have any major impact on Pandora's existence, but of course we are talking about simple estimates.

In terms of Apple Music, of course it launched at the end of June, so there was no impact yet. Going forward, we feel really good about our trajectory and competitive position. With any big launch like this and the noise in the marketplace, there could be some users that experiment with it and there could be some short term impact... But we don't believe that there will be any long-term impact.

Apple Music is appreciated by millions of people on the planet, and although for now neither Pandora nor Spotify have felt a big impact in terms of usage and income, things will definitely change in the coming months, after the summer.

Apple Music is available for free for 3 months, after which Apple will charge between $2 and $12 for its use.
