The evolution of user preferences regarding smartphone screens (infographic)

In recent years smartphone screens have grown to reach ridiculously large diagonals that make their use extremely difficult especially with one hand, and probably some of you are curious to know how user preferences have evolved over this period of time .

The infographic is based on surveys conducted in 2011 and 2014 on a little over 7000 people in total, proving that user preferences have changed a lot in just 3 years, but that's thanks to the promotion of terminals with large screens made by to the producers.

If in 2011 the majority of users preferred smartphones with 4-inch - 4.3-inch screens, in 2014 the preferences had changed radically and 4.5-5 inch screens were the most desired, this preference being more definitely preserved during 2015.

The launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens demonstrates the fact that large screens are now the most demanded by users, otherwise the Apple company would not have brought to the market terminals with such large diagonal screens.

In the future, smartphone screens have no place to grow, so manufacturers' attention will shift to increasing resolutions to offer much better quality images, most of them already having QHD screens, the transition to 4K will be made in the following years.
