Apple wanted to hire former Top Gear presenters, will launch a film production division

Apple TV programsBelieve it or not, launching a car is not the only ambition of Apple that is not related to smartphones, tablets or laptops, the American company hiring directors and film producers, courting including the famous presenters of Top Gear.

Basically Apple wants to compete with Netflix, HBO or Amazon in the production of original films or series, and the battle for presenters Top Gear was lost with those from Amazon, but that did not stop those from Cupertino from looking for other actors for the projects they intend to carry out in the coming years.

For now, the initiative from Apple is in the early stages of development and probably many will not rush to join the team of the American company for projects that are still far from being realized, but certainly the idea of producing films with the financing of those from Cupertino will attract the interest of many people in the future.

No one knows for sure if Apple will produce only feature films or only series in a format similar to that offered by Netflix, but it is clear that Apple wants to expand its business in areas of interest that are not related to technology.

The scale of Apple's ambitions vary depending on who is asked, but one high-level executive who talked with the company said the goal is to create development and production divisions that would churn out long-form content to stream in a bid to compete with Netflix . Apple is hoping to put a headhunting firm on those hires in the coming months, according to sources, with the goal of being in operation next year. Unknown is whether the focus is on TV series, movies–or both.

To be completely honest, I'm not really that amazed by what Apple intends to do, because Amazon has demonstrated in the past that you can go from being a simple seller of trivial products to a producer of very good TV series.

If Apple will develop things as it wants, then we can expect that next year we will also see the first original creation financed by the company and released in iTunes or another dedicated service.
