13 million iPhone 6S and 6S Plus were sold on the weekend of the launch by the Apple company, those from Cupertino making the announcement just a few minutes ago through a press release published on their own website along with other details about the launch.
The figure is surprising considering that many have said that the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will not surpass the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in sales, they being sold in 10 million units during the launch weekend last year, a record for that moment in Apple's existence.
UPDATED: The launch of iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus in Romania will be on October 9.
The 13 million iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus sold during the launch weekend represents an increase of approximately 30% in sales of iPhone terminals, or 3 million units more than the record set last fall by Apple with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Some analysts estimated last week that Apple would announce sales of 12-15 million units of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus during the launch weekend, and their estimates turned out to be relatively true, the actual figure announced by to the Apple company, being among the expected ones.

Sales completed by Saturday, September 26 will be included in Apple's 2015 fourth fiscal quarter results, and sales completed on Sunday, September 27 will be included in Apple's 2016 first fiscal quarter results.
