Apple implemented Bluetooth 4.2 in iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air 2, the new technology being found in iPhone 6S, 6S iPhone Plus, iPad Mini 4 si iPad Pro, the last 4 products being launched in the fall of this year by those from Cupertino for users.
iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air 2 were launched by Apple with Bluetooth 4.0 in the autumn of last year and moving to Bluetooth 4.2 was made during this fall, but no one knows exactly what happened because Apple improved the Bluetooth technology of the terminals.
Bluetooth 4.2 offers reduced energy consumption, up to 2.5 times faster data transfer speeds, up to 10 times higher transfer capacity, improved security and more, but everyone is wondering how Apple updated the technology in the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air 2.
Theoretically, this upgrade from Bluetooth 4 to Bluetooth 4.2 can be done through a software update, but in order to benefit from the higher transfer speeds, an improved chip would be needed that could only be implemented in the production process.
