The App Store has higher revenues than Google Play

App Store vs Google PlayThe App Store generated more revenue than Google Play in Q3 2015 and in any other fiscal quarter in the years that have passed so far since the launch of the two application stores for mobile terminals, and this does not seem to change any time soon.

According to new data regarding the two stores, in Q3 2015 App Store receipts were 80% higher than those of Google Play, the difference increasing from 70% in Q2 2015, a sign that Apple is making greater efforts to generate more money with the sale of applications.

Although the App Store is king in revenue, in terms of downloads Google Play still holds the supremacy, the store of Google generating 90% more downloads than the App Store, the percentage increasing from 85% recorded in Q2 2015.

iOS and Google Play continued to show diverging growth patterns in Q3 2015. Google Play expanded its download lead over iOS thanks to first-time smartphone users in emerging markets like India and Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, iOS extended its revenue lead over Google Play thanks to its continued strength in another Asian market: China.

As expected by some analysts, China is the most important market for Apple, App Store downloads surpassing the US there, but the same is true for receipts, so the Chinese spent more money than the Americans on applications in Q3 2015.

Apple has been giving a lot of importance to China in recent years, and this is because that is where the biggest revenues for the American company come from, China surpassing the USA in revenues since last year, and in 2015 it seems that things will not change in any way of sight.

App Store vs Google Play 1

To be honest, it is interesting that Google Play generates almost double downloads compared to the App Store, but halved revenues, a sign that more and more users are downloading free applications that generate less money for Google.
