i-BLADES – the first smart iPhone case

i-BLADES smart casei-BLADES is the first smart case for iPhone, giving us the opportunity to expand the functionality of our terminals by adding modular elements that contain various components that are not included in the devices from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),.

More precisely, we are talking about a case in which a motherboard with a microprocessor is included, to which modular components containing batteries or larger storage media can be attached to allow us to get more from our terminals without much effort .

As you will see in the video clip below, i-BLADES case it has an intelligent system for mounting these modular components, but also for combining several components on top of each other, so that we can benefit from multiple improvements simultaneously on the same terminal.

According to the creators i-BLADES, through modular components we can add up to 1 TB of storage space for our iPhone terminals, and over that storage space we can mount a component that increases battery autonomy, the developers avoiding providing details about its capacity for the time being.

The idea behind i-BLADES is extremely interesting and surely the future lies in the ability to customize our smartphones beyond simply attaching a case or a sticker, smart cases will become more complex starting in 2016.

For now, i-BLADES exists as a project which needs financing and which currently offers this accessory only for two models of Samsung terminals, iPhone versions to be included in a separate financing project.
