Apple is building a new iCloud data center

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), will build a new data center for iCloud in Reno, Nevada, those from Cupertino already submitting the necessary documentation for the construction of the buildings that will host the servers that will support the infrastructure of its online services.

Apple opened in 2012 in the data center there for iCloud and now expands the capacity of storage and data transmission to iDevice/Mac/PCs, the new project having the code name Huckleberry, the entire construction being similar to the one made for the existing data center there.

The data center already built by Apple in Reno is not 100% completed, although it is partially operational, and before it is finished the Apple company will build an adjacent one, over 1 billion dollars have already been invested in this project, the amount being double.

The first data center is composed of 14 buildings that cover an area of ​​over 125.000 m², and with its help Apple supports iCloud, iTunes and the App Store in the USA and various other areas on the planet, the American company having rented the infrastructure on every continent.

If the submitted documentation is approved by the end of the month, Apple will begin the construction process of the new data center in February, the expansion of capacity being a proof of the fact that more and more Apple products exist worldwide.
