iPhone 5se – the crisis solution for the illusion of success

iPhone 5 will be released in March by the Apple company after years and years in which it was rumored that a new smartphone with a 4-inch screen would arrive on the market, here is that 2016 is the year in which those from Cupertino believe that it must make its appearance.

Considering that in 2014 Apple made the transition from 4-inch screens to 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens, the appearance of a new smartphone with a smaller screen may seem strange, but I think that the basis of the launch iPhone 5se it is actually a desire of Apple to support the illusion of success.

Year after year, the Apple company reported constant increases in iPhone sales, 2015 being the peak year for those from Cupertino, they sold the most iPhones so far, so many that many people think that no more there is an opportunity to grow for those from Cupertino.

Although the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus should set new sales records for Apple, many analysts believe that the terminals will not be able to do this due to the appearance iPhone 5se has the role of compensating for the lack of interest vis-à-vis these two products.

Without having data on the sales of iPhone terminals in Q4 2015 we cannot say for sure that Apple has a problem, but the launch of a new smartphone in a category that should be forgotten suggests that Apple is in great need of an increase in sales in certain segments.

There is a possibility that the iPhone 5S will generate very low sales for the Apple company, the interest vis-à-vis this device may be so low that Apple is forced to launch a iPhone 5se to maintain the illusion of success and the happiness of the analysts.

Refreshing the line of terminals with 4-inch screens with a new model will certainly generate an increase in sales in this segment, Apple needing better results in 2016 compared to 2015, otherwise it risks being destroyed in the press by analysts.

My opinion is that iPhone 5se will be launched to compensate for a decrease in sales, either in the segment of top iPhones or in the segment of mid/low-end models, but the appearance of a terminal of this kind is not based on Apple's voluntary desire to launch an iPhone new, but a need to hide a sales failure in a certain segment.

What do you think ? Is the iPhone 5se an attempt by Apple to distract attention from sales problems, or is the launch to cover an existing market need that Apple was not satisfying until now?
