Orange announced the financial results for Q4 2015

Orange announced the financial results for Q4 2015, the mobile phone operator having a 7.4% increase in income compared to the same period last year, 250 million euros being the total receipts of the last three months of 2015.

In Q4 2015 4G data consumption was 6 times higher than in the same period of the previous year, 75% of the phones sold by the operator are smartphones, thus explaining the very large increase in 4G data consumption.

At the end of 2015 Orange TV had 275.000 customers, 75% more than the same period last year, and the number of 4G tablets sold compared to 2014 was 4 times higher, a sign that the world is interested in the latest technologies and in terms of tablets.

Bucharest, February 16, 2016. The Orange Group announces today its financial results for 2015.

Last year, Orange Romania's revenues reached 947 million euros, of which 250 million euros in the last quarter. Total revenues increased by 7,4% compared to the same quarter of 2014.

At the end of 2015, Orange had 10.177.000 customers, the number of subscribers increasing by 4% compared to the same period last year. The Orange TV service registered over 275.000 subscribers, with an increase of 75,4% compared to the same period last year.

In 2015 Orange continued to innovate and bring new services and products to the market, such as Wi-Fi on board, the Orange smart shop concept, the Orange TV stick, the M2M Control platform for corporations, in the last quarter, the 4G call service and, in tests with users, Wi-Fi calling and the Orange Smart Home solution. The 4G call service, launched on September 14, 2015, was well received by Orange customers, with the number of daily calls constantly increasing compared to the end of September, at the end of the year, one in three customers with compatible terminals using the new daily service.

Also, with the new brand promise, September brought a simplified portfolio of individual subscriptions that has been successful since launch. For example, in the following 3 months, 40% of customers who chose an Orange Net subscription also opted for the benefits offered in the Orange Share offer. In addition, from the total number of customers who chose or extended a subscription in the last quarter, 10% benefit from Family advantages, choosing to use several services simultaneously.

The consumption of 4G mobile data continued its upward trend, being six times higher in 2015 compared to 2014, this evolution also being supported by the doubling of the number of 4G terminals in the network on a comparable basis. At the end of the year, Orange continued to offer the most extensive coverage for 4G services, for 96% of the urban population and 72% of the total population. In 2015, Orange had, according to ANCOM, the highest real average download speeds in Romania, both inside and outside buildings, and a study carried out with the help of the Millward Brown agency between June and September showed that 97% of users are satisfied with the 4G Orange network.

Almost 75% of phones sold at the end of 2015 were smartphones, marking a peak in the number of such devices sold, 50% more than the same period last year and 70% more 4G phones than at the beginning of the year. In 2015, 4 times as many 4G tablets were sold compared to 2014, and in the wearable segment, sales doubled compared to last year.
