A top Apple designer has left the company for GoPro

The team of 19 industrial designers who create the product designs Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), it will be smaller by 1 member starting next month because Daniel Coster He will leave those in Cupertino to become vice president of the design division within the GoPro company.

Daniel Coster has been an employee of Apple since 1999, when there are the oldest patents that mentioned him, so we are talking about the departure of a very old and very important member of the Apple company's design team, but it is unlikely that she will be seriously affected.

Apple has a small team of designers who create the shapes of its future products, and the purpose of keeping it small is known only to Jony Ive and, probably, Tim Cook, so any departure is a loss and may suggest other future departures.

Last year, Jony Ive was promoted to the position of Chief Design Officer in order to have more free time and not to leave the Apple company, two designers from the team being promoted to the position of vice president to take over part of their boss's duties.

A member of Apple's elite industrial design team, Danny Coster, is jumping ship, joining GoPro to head up a new hardware design group there. "I want more time with my family and friends. And to explore this new opportunity at Go-Pro.”

Coster is leaving Apple to have more free time to spend with his family and to start a new adventure, Apple being known for the draconian schedule it imposes on employees, especially those who have to create features or designs important in short periods of time.

Having said that, it remains to be seen whether or not this departure will negatively affect the Apple company because a man with over 17 years of experience in developing designs for Apple products certainly had a hard word to say within the design team.
