Orange: Convergent fixed-mobile services and over 40% market share in Romania

Convergence means offering of complete packages of mobile telephony, fixed telephony, mobile internet, fixed internet and television, Orange using its own infrastructure, but also that of Telekom to realize its plans.

Based on these initiatives, Orange will launch fixed-mobile convergent services in several cities in the country in the following weeks and we are talking about fixed internet speed up to 1 Gbps, landline offers and most likely cable television offers.

Gervais Pellissier confirmed during this day that Orange Romania has over 40% of the local market of mobile telephony, the operator being far ahead of its direct competitors, the director of the Orange group still stating that four operators for such a small market is too much.

Regarding Orange TV, before taking over the position of CEO of Orange Moldova, Julien Duccaroz confirmed the fact that the platform has over 300.000 subscribers in Romania, a commendable number considering that we are only talking about satellite television.

Starting this year, those from Orange will try to make their customer base even more loyal with fixed-mobile convergent offers, the goal being that any home in which there are one or two Orange services will have the entire range of services of the operator mobile phone.

With 19 years of experience in telecommunications, Liudmila Climoc is the Chief Executive Officer of Orange Romania starting on May 1, 2016, after 7 years in the same role in the Moldovan subsidiary. Under his leadership, Orange Moldova doubled its customer base to over 2.6 million, consolidating the company's leading position, with a market share of 57% in the mobile telecommunications sector.

Liudmila Climoc joined Orange Moldova in 1998, where she held a number of management roles within the commercial department. In 2008, Liudmila was promoted from the position of Chief Sales Officer to that of Chief Executive Officer.

Liudmila is a passionate supporter of new communication technologies and a constant supporter of innovation and the digitization process, which serve both society as a whole and consumers through products and services designed to connect them to what is important to them. At Orange Moldova, she implemented two industry firsts, namely HD Voice and HD Voice International mobile services, before they were widely adopted in Europe.
