SUR-FAKE – Smartphone addiction, seen through the eyes of a photographer

The French photographer Antoine Geiger created a project called SUR-Fake, through which he wants to draw our attention to our addiction to mobile phones. In the photos we see people whose facial expressions are erased and merge with the phone screen. Obviously, the photos are modified in Photoshop, but the idea remains the same, the alienated relationship between us and our own body and the increasingly cruel alienation from the physical world, from everything that surrounds us.

"Nothing was staged. I went out and captured reality"

Dependence on the mobile phone goes hand in hand with the new means of communication, increasingly advanced and technological. In this way, we end up not doing anything without the phone, nothing, you go to museums not to contemplate the work of art, but to take a picture next to it.
