Orange brings the fun to the sea with free Wi-Fi on the Sun Trains

Bucharest, May 16, 2016. Orange brings the fun to the seaside this summer. Between 01 May and 15 September, travelers on the Bucharest-Constanța route and return enjoy free Wi-Fi in carriages marked with the "Orange Wi-Fi Zone", having high-speed access to their favorite content, without being conditioned by the mobile phone network they are using. Entertainment is guaranteed for the whole family, because the traffic is checked in terms of content, so that it is safe even for the little ones, but also to prevent risks that can affect users' devices.

Internet connection in CFR trains is based on the Orange Business Wi-Fi solution and allows high-speed access throughout the journey for hundreds of mobile devices connected simultaneously during the two hours to the coast.

Thus, Orange completes the portfolio of projects through which it offers connectivity on the move. In 2015, Orange implemented a project by which it provides free Wi-Fi to passengers of the Cluj-Napoca Public Transport Company, whether they are Orange customers or not, and in the meantime the service has been extended to other cities in the country, such as Timisoara and Caransebeș. Also in 2015, Orange, in partnership with Dacia, developed the solution for the special edition Dacia Duster Connected by Orange. The car has Wi-Fi on board and during the trip, up to 10 devices can be connected simultaneously in the car.

"With Orange Business Wi-Fi on the move, we demonstrate that quality Wi-Fi solutions do not necessarily have to be tied to a fixed point. We believe in smart transportation services, and instant access to information and entertainment for users is an essential component of that. Moreover, passengers have the opportunity to participate in the improvement of the services offered by CFR Călători by completing a short questionnaire at the time of connection. In this way, real-time travel data, information related to the trains on the route, as well as customer satisfaction data are obtained," said Cristian Pațachia, Development & Innovation Manager, Orange Romania.
