Soli – the smartwatch that works with gestures

Salt is a SmartWatch which is the result of a collaboration between Google si LG, and within Google I/O 2016 it was presented to the whole world, the device having a functionality that exceeds any imagination of a normal smartwatch user.

Salt is digital crown, such as Apple Watch or many other smartwatches, but it can be controlled with gestures made in front of the smart watch, the user not needing to touch the screen to interact with the gadget.

As you will see in the video clips below, Soli is able to allow navigation through the user interface, or the display of information, after making simple gestures, which do not have to be done in its immediate vicinity to be recognized.

Even if it is currently in the alpha stage of development, Soli is surprisingly well developed and responds surprisingly well to the gestures made by users, LG and Google managing to produce an extremely interesting smartwatch based on Android Wear.

The technology behind Soli is being developed by Google and LG to be implemented in future smartwatches through a framework, so that a multitude of other smart watches could benefit from it in the not too distant future.

For now, no one knows when Soli will be released on the market, but when it appears, it will revolutionize the way we interact with smartwatches, and I don't think it will be long until Apple implements something similar in the Apple Watch .
