iPhone 7 will not be the name of the smartphone that Apple will launch in 2016, or at least that's what we learn today from anonymous sources, stating that in Cupertino it was decided that this name should be kept for 2017, when a will be released anniversary model of the iPhone.
The strategy is relatively similar to the one adopted by Samsung for Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the Koreans going to skip a figure, but to bring their entire series of smartphones in the same line of names, not because they were going to launch an anniversary version too soon.
The information is quite strange and would suggest that in 2016 Apple would launch an iPhone that would have a name that represents a variation of the iPhone 6, but what else can Apple add to this name apart from an e, the final result being the launch to an iPhnoe 6SE, an older brother for iPhone SE.
Of course, there is no verification for this rumor and of course no one knows how true or false it could be, but considering that we are talking about the Apple company, anything is possible at the moment, even such a radical change of strategy for choosing iPhone names.
What's more, according to the tip, Apple is holding the name iPhone 7 until next year's 10th anniversary edition, meaning that the 2016 models will very likely be named using another riff on iPhone 6.
Although I find it hard to believe that Apple will not release it iPhone 7 this year, I'm also thinking about the fact that 2017 will be an extremely important year, with 10 years since the launch of the iPhone, and the appearance of a iPhone 7S it will not generate the idea that Apple has prepared a truly new terminal, but only an upgrade for an old one.
This is not the first time we hear such information from unknown sources, but perhaps close to the Apple company, they still come in quite small numbers until now, a sign that maybe the decision to keep the iPhone 7 name until next year is not a final one, at least for now.
Apart from all this, iPhone 7 2017 or iPhone 7S will have a glass case, so let's go back to the design used for iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.
