A new type of malware is attacking OS X

A new type of malware for OS X was discovered by the computer security company Malwarebytes, stating that technical users could be extremely easily tricked by this software into installing a program that would give hackers access to their computers.

This malware was discovered by Malwarebytes on the application's official page Advanced Mac Cleaner, everything being a scam by which users are tricked into installing an application that then takes control of the Mac and allows a hacker to access data remotely without the user knowing.

Users are tricked into installing a so-called application Mac File Opener, this having a list of over 200 types of files that it can open, the user not knowing that in reality he has installed in his Mac a very dangerous application that could cost him time, money and a lot of nerves over time.

After installation, Mac File Opener automatically opens any type of file for which there is no compatible application in OS X, and from there hackers have direct access to the data from the respective Mac, but the user does not know that in reality someone can access his computer from a distance to take anything from it.

Even more intriguing, this app didn't have any apparent mechanism for being launched. It hadn't been added to my login items. There wasn't a new launch agent or daemon designed to load it. It simply seemed to be sitting there, doing nothing.

Although this malware is dangerous, it must be installed manually by the user, ignoring Apple's warning not to install applications from outside the App Store, so only those who do not know what they are really doing on their computer could install such an application, full of malware.
