Two young people were arrested trying to buy iPhone 7 at the airport

Two young people were arrested at an airport in Singapore trying to buy iPhone 7 because they entered the boarding area without the intention of leaving the country.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are very hard to find in stores, even in Singapore, and two young people there have found the perfect way to buy Apple terminals. They found a store in Changi Airport in Singapore that sold iPhone 7 and thought they could buy the terminals there, even cheaper than in the country.

In this idea, they bought cheap tickets to a nearby destination and using them entered the airport to buy the desired iPhone 7 terminals. The problem was that Singaporean law does not allow a person to buy a plane ticket and enter the boarding area without intending to leave the country, so these two young men were arrested.

On the very day of the iPhone 7 launch, i.e. September 16, the incident took place at Changi airport, the two young men were to receive a fine of up to 735 dollars and a prison sentence of up to 2 years. Of course they won't go to jail for this attempt to buy iPhone 7 cheaper and faster, but the idea itself is ingenious.

The local police say that this is the first time that an incident of this kind has taken place and they warn Apple fans not to buy plane tickets for access to the boarding area of an airport unless they intend to fly somewhere.

"But two Singaporeans allegedly thought they had found a new way of queue jumping, and saving some money, by buying plane tickets so they could pick up the iPhone 7 at Changi Airport. They were arrested on September 16 for breaking airport laws. The two have been charged under the Protected Areas and Protected Places Act. They face a fine of up to 1,000 Singapore dollars ($735; £565) and a jail term of up to two years if convicted."
