iOS 10 is installed on more iDevices than iOS 9

iOS 10 has already been installed on more iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches than iOS 9, but it has not exceeded last year's adoption rate.

iOS 10 is already installed on more iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches than iOS 9, according to data provided by a company specialized in monitoring global operating systems. In the graph below, you can see that iOS 10 is already installed on 48.16% of all iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches compatible with it and active worldwide.

iOS 9, on the other hand, is installed on 48.79 of the active and compatible iDevices worldwide, the difference between the two operating systems being less than 1%. The Apple company has so far released three versions of iOS 10, the initial one, iOS 10.0.2, but also iOS 10.1, the latter being for now only available in beta version.

Although iOS 10 has already been released for two weeks, it does not have an adoption rate as high as that of iOS 9, that operating system reaching 54% of iDevices in less than two weeks. We can now observe that more than 2 weeks after the release of iOS 10, this operating system is still 6 percent behind the one previously offered.

Explanations for this difference can be found very easily, but we must not forget the fact that with the release of iOS 10, Apple left behind some iDevices that represent a serious percentage of the number of active terminals globally. Even so, the fact that it did not surpass iOS 9 in terms of the speed with which it was adopted, should give Apple people something to think about.
