Moreover, 4G traffic increased 4 times in Q3 2016 compared to the same period last year, theoretically only for Orange customers. We know that Orange and Telekom made a pact to facilitate the access of those from Telekom to the Orange network and theoretically this increase should not cover the interconnection made with competitors.

Mobile internet traffic doubled and 4G traffic increased 4 times in the last quarter compared to the previous year. The growing appetite for anytime, anywhere connectivity is the catalyst for the positive trend in smartphone sales in recent years, with Orange's portfolio of 4G phones being more extensive than ever. It is composed of over 50 references that can be purchased individually or as a subscription, with options for each price range. Thus, the share of 4G phones in the total number of smartphones sold increased by 16 percentage points compared to last year, and the number of customers is also increasing, reaching 1,9 million.

To ensure the best mobile internet experience, investments in the network continued in the third quarter of 2016 so that, at the end of September, Orange offers access to mobile internet at 4G speeds for 74% of the total population of Romania. 4G Fun Kit is a new digital and interactive tool through which the voice of customers is heard and through which Orange responds with actions that come to meet their expectations. For an improved experience at all points of interaction with customers, in the last three months, the network of smart stores has been expanded or modernized by including 6 stores, reaching a total number of 11 stores. The concept of smart stores offers customers an improved digital experience, a personalized service approach through interactive screens, the simplified payment system or the introduction of the digital signage system with professional screens, so that the waiting time of customers decreased by an average of 37,5% .

“The performance in the third quarter reflects continued growth in the evolution of mobile data usage, supported by increased appetite for connectivity, digital services, smartphones and wearables. In this context, our customers want simple and effective communication solutions and quick access to the things important to them. Thus, with our convergent offer, recently launched nationally, we aim to offer them the best fixed-mobile experience on the local market" said Liudmila Climoc, Chief Executive Officer at Orange Romania.
