MacBook Air - the news and the disappearance of the series

This evening the Apple company presented the MacBook Pro 2016, practically taking the first step towards completely removing the MacBook Air series from sale. Although there were hopes that the MacBook Air series would be updated, this evening the Apple company took the first step towards forgetting this series of products sold over the years.

Instead of launching an updated version of the MacBook Air, the Apple company launched a cheaper model of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, which does not have the new Touch Bar or Touch ID. Instead, this model of the 13-inch MacBook Pro costs 1500 dollars, that is, more than a 13-inch MacBook Air, but it benefits from new generation hardware.

The 11-inch MacBook Air has been discontinued and will only be offered for purchase to educational institutions, regular customers not being able to buy it. The 13-inch MacBook Air is still on sale at the price of $999, but it has old hardware and, to be honest, it's not really worth the money, considering the options on the market.

Basically, Apple makes it clear that the MacBook Air series is on the way to extinction and directs its customers to the 13-inch MacBook Pro, if they want a "cheap" laptop. Next year, Apple will probably remove the MacBook Air from sale and the current "cheap" model of the 13-inch MacBook Pro will be sold at a lower price, but with old hardware, as Apple is used to.

In conclusion, MacBook Air and lives the last year of life.
