The Apple Store Chicago cost $62 million

Apple is preparing to open a new Apple Store in Chicago, but the costs for the construction of the new location amount to no less than 62 million dollars. The information comes from the construction permit granted by the local authorities and made public the other day, the amount being enormous for a store from Cupertino.

For this store, the people from Apple use a lot of glass panels, which have extremely high prices, but the design of the store is an exception. The new location has been under construction for some time, but Apple has only now received the authorization to complete its rather bold plans, the store being located in a shopping district of Chicago.

With a price of 62 million dollars for the construction, this is the most expensive Apple Store erected by the Apple company to date in the USA, or probably anywhere else in the world. The most expensive store built so far by the Apple company had a construction price of 23.6 million dollars and was built in San Francisco.

The entire Apple store in Chicago has a size of approximately 7000 square meters and will be a point of attraction for extremely many fans of the company. The sums that the Apple company invests in its stores are impressive, but the average receipts per store amount to at least 100 million dollars annually, so the money will be amortized quickly.

"A construction permit issued by the city Friday put the price of the project at $62 million, not including the $375 permit fee. The 20,000-square-foot store is going up, or more precisely, down, behind a temporary black wall lining the southern border of Pioneer Court at 401 N. Michigan Ave."
