iPhone 7 sales did not increase after the failure of the Galaxy Note 7

iPhone 7 sales did not increase following the failure of the Galaxy Note 7, Apple failing to profit from it.

Although many analysts have stated that sales iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus would have increased thanks to the failure of the Galaxy Note 7, now we have information that suggests that this is not true. According to those from Gartner, only the Chinese brands took advantage of the failure of Samsung and the Galaxy Note 7, the sales of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus not being positively affected following the removal of this product from sale.

According to Gartner, sales of iPhone terminals fell during the period when the Galaxy Note 7 was released, despite the fact that the entire smartphone market grew by 5.4%. If this is true, then it is clear that a large part of those who bought the Galaxy Note 7 preferred to stay in the Android world.

Sales of iPhone terminals fell by 8.5% in the US and 31% in China in the third fiscal quarter of 2015, these being the biggest markets for the Americans. Unfortunately for them, it seems that either they didn't know how to take advantage of the failure of the Galaxy Note 7, or they didn't want to do it, and so sales didn't increase, on the contrary, they decreased.

"Apple's iPhone sales continued to fall in the third quarter of 2016, with a 6.6 percent decline. Apple accounted for 11.5 percent of the global smartphone market, its lowest share since the first quarter of 2009. Apple's sales fell by 8.5 percent in the US and by 31 percent in China, two of its biggest markets. The iPhone 7 struggled to stimulate replacement sales.”

Among the Chinese brands that stood to gain from the withdrawal of the Galaxy Note 7 are Oppo and BKK, both doubling their market shares. The ones from Huawei didn't do too badly either, but in their case we can't talk about substantial increases in sales based on the failure of those from Samsung.

"China led the growth in the smartphone market in the third quarter of 2016. Sales of smartphones in China grew by 12.4 percent, and the vendors who most successfully exploited the sales opportunities there were Oppo and BBK Communication Equipment. In Oppo's case, 81 percent of its smartphone sales came from China, while BBK accounted for 89 percent of smartphone sales in China. These two vendors also grew strongly in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Russia."

Having said that, Apple didn't have much to gain from the Galaxy Note 7.
