eMAG Black Friday 2016 started today in this page with quite big problems regarding the functioning of the website, many people not being able to complete their orders. If you are curious to find out why it didn't work eMAG this morning, well, the president Iulian Stanciu stated that Black Friday 2016 tens of thousands of orders were received per minute.
Unlike other years, in which orders came progressively in the eMAG store, on Black Friday 2016 extremely many Romanians placed tens of thousands of orders per second. We are talking about an eMAG Black Friday that had a peak of 452.000 people who simultaneously accessed the website, so almost half a million Romanians who wanted to order something from eMAG.
According to those from eMAG, in the first three hours of Black Friday 2016 the following were recorded:
- sales of 165 million lei;
- 25.6% of orders paid by card;
- 370.000 products sold out of 1 million announced;
- 24 diamonds ordered;
- 1000 energy packages ordered;
- 8.7 KG of gold bought;
- 303 tickets bought for Electric Castle or Summer Well;
- 42 million views generated;
- 1.3 million store visits;
- 370.000 orders placed with delivery by courier, 16.000 with pickup from showrooms and 4100 with pickup from the post office.

Regarding the most popular product categories, the following were recorded until 10:00: sales
- Television sets – 16.846 pieces;
- Perfumes – 11.152 pieces;
- Refrigerators – 6.572 pieces;
- Personal care – 11.030 pieces;
- Laptops – 10.530 pieces;
- Diapers – 11.148 pieces;
- Tires – 11.746 pieces;
- Telephones – 16.052 pieces;
- Books – 8.269 pieces;
- Toys – 13.639 pieces;
- Washing machines – 5.883 pieces;
- Clothing and footwear - 4.199 pieces;
- Small electrical appliances – 30.776 pieces;
- PC and peripheral components - 24.038 pieces;
- Home and home care products - 53.021 pieces;
- Sports and outdoor activities - 4.972 pieces;
Based on what we see now, it seems that eMAG Black Friday 2016 will reach its goal of 250 million LEI generated from sales, and I think it will surpass it by a lot. To the same extent, all the 1 million products put up for sale by eMAG for Black Friday 2016 will probably be sold, but it remains to be seen if the target of 6.5 million visits will be reached.
