Apple limits iPhone 4 7G speeds

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have 4G speeds limited by the Apple company so that there are no differences in performance.

Pam Pam! The Apple company limits the 4G speeds of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus that included a Qualcomm modem, that is, only certain versions sold in the US, China and that's it. The information comes from some American engineers who checked the performance of the terminals iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with Intel and Qualcomm modem, discovering what Apple is doing.

I told you a few weeks ago that the iPhone 7 with an Intel modem has inferior 4G performance to those with a Qualcomm modem, but the vast majority were sold with an Intel modem. So that there is no discrepancy in performance and implicitly an international scandal, the Apple company decided to limit the performance of models with Qualcomm modem.

The Apple company would have chosen to limit iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus terminals with Qualcomm modems compared to those with Intel modems, by not activating a function available for them. This would have allowed the use of compatible networks with much better performance, but this would have generated a lot of upset among customers.

In order to reach a conclusive and unquestionable result, those who present these data claim that they have performed tests on 100.000 iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and Galaxy S7 terminals. In their tests, the Samsung smartphone with the Qualcomm X12 chip is 2 times faster than Apple's that have an Intel modem, or the same type of Qualcomm modem.

"The data indicates that the iPhone 7 is not taking advantage of all of Verizon's network capabilities. I doubt that Apple is throttling each bit on the Verizon iPhone, but it could have chosen not to enable certain features of the network chip."

Those from Apple stated that the differences in performance between iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus that use different modems are not noticeable and meet their test standards. Here Apple is not lying, but neither is it telling the whole truth, because the performance of terminals with Qualcomm modems could be higher, if they wanted it.

"Every iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus meets or exceeds all of Apple's wireless performance standards, quality metrics, and reliability testing. In all of our rigorous lab tests based on wireless industry standards, in thousands of hours of real-world field testing, and in extensive carrier partner testing, the data shows there is no discernible difference in the wireless performance of any of the models."

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus terminals with Qualcomm modem are not sold in Romania, only those with Intel modem. I don't know if the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus terminals with Qualcomm modem, the ones sold only by Verizon in the USA, will perform better in Romania, considering that the tests were done on a CDMA network, but anything is possible.

So, what do you think about Apple now?
