The iPhone is the most popular camera for taking pictures

Flicker, one of the websites with the largest number of photos published by users around the world, lists the iPhone as having the most popular camera for taking pictures. 8 of the first 10 cameras with which the pictures published via Flickr were taken are of various iPhone models, and that says a lot about Apple's achievement.

48% of all pictures uploaded and published via Flickr were taken using smartphone cameras, the percentage being much higher than that of DSLRs. Of these, 46% were taken using iPhone terminals, so almost half of all pictures taken with a smartphone and published on Flickr were taken with an iPhone.

Regarding the first positions, iPhone 6, iPhone 5S and iPhone 6S are the first 3 smartphones with which most of the uploaded photos were taken. The iPhone 6 sold by far the most copies, but it is still surprising that the iPhone 5S still surpasses the iPhone 6S in terms of the number of pictures uploaded to the Flickr network.

On the other hand, DSLRs represented only 25% of the photos uploaded to Flickr, and Canon is the most popular brand, with 24% of the total DSLR photos. For several years now, the Apple company has been in the top of the brands in terms of pictures published through Flickr, and considering the extremely large number of people who use this network, it is clear that the world loves the iPhone camera.

"Smartphones accounted for 48% of the photos uploaded to Flickr, up from 39% last year. DSLR was 25%, down from 31% in 2015, and point and shoot was 21%, down from 25% in 2015. Mirrorless remained flat at 3% of photos uploaded in 2016. As for brands, Apple continued its dominance. 47% of all Flickr users used an Apple device to upload images to the platform. In fact, 8 of the top 10 devices were iPhones, with the 6, 5s, and 6s in the top three positions."
