Apple hires a Porsche executive

Canceling the project that had in mind the development of an autonomous car, the Apple company still hired a director of the famous car manufacturer, Porsche. Alex Hitzinger is the director in question, he worked until recently at the Porsche team that develops the cars that compete in the famous 24-hour race on the Le Mans circuit.

We are talking about a technical director, who worked for 5 years in Germany for those from Porsche, he is now relocated to California to work at Apple. With such a man employed within Apple, those from Cupertino have at their disposal everything they need to create a great car, especially since they have employed many other engineers from Ford, GM, BMW, Mercedes and other car manufacturers.

What Alex Hitzinger does within Apple has not yet been found out, but we are probably talking about a collaboration with the team that develops the autonomous guidance system for cars. Considering that Apple has confirmed that it is developing at least one such system, it is easy to speculate what its role could be in the gearing of the American company.

The interesting part is that the presidents of Volkswagen and Porsche tried to convince Alex Hitzinger to stay in the company and failed, so Apple made him an extremely generous offer. Alex Hitzinger has always been involved in the development of high-speed cars, but the Apple company does not have such a plan, or maybe it does?
