2017 – the year of smartphones with borderless screens

2017 will be the year we see the most smartphones with bezel-less screens, or at least the most of all launched in the last 10 years. Last year Xiaomi was the only major manufacturer that launched a smartphone whose screen covers almost the entire front panel, but in 2017 we will see more terminals of this kind.

From Samsung to LG, more and more manufacturers are interested in launching smartphones with screens that cover even the side edges, or the upper/lower ones of the front panel. The trend is so strong that even from iPhone 8 we were expecting such a change, so it will be interesting to see how brave the Apple company will be.

The Xiaomi smartphone was very well received in China and the markets where it was launched until now, and the world was waiting for even more interesting terminals from other manufacturers. Those from Xiaomi have shown that it is possible, but others will come and will probably do a much better job with the terminals they will offer us, especially those from Apple or Samsung.

2017 – the year of limitless smartphones

The Samsung Galaxy S8 will be the first major smartphone to have a screen that covers almost the entire front panel, and the iPhone 8 will be the second. Among them, others could be launched, which come from producers without as great popularity, but the appearance of a large number of such devices will give courage to more companies to offer them to us.

The great advantage of screens of this kind lies in the fact that they can have larger dimensions without increasing the dimensions of the smartphones in which they are integrated. In this idea, the Samsung Galaxy S8 could have a larger screen than the one of the Galaxy S7/Edge, but without the dimensions of the product being increased, and the same could also be true for the iPhone 8 compared to the current models.

What do you think about this initiative of the producers to turn all the rumors so far into reality?
