Blackberry has almost disappeared from the smartphone market

Blackberry is very close to disappearing completely from the top of the operating systems used for smartphones sold worldwide. In Q4 2016, only approximately 200.000 terminals with the Blackberry operating system would have been sold worldwide, those from Gartner having a table created to illustrate the sales of the major operating systems.

Interestingly, Apple is not credited with the officially announced figure, but returning to Blackberry, the Canadian company has reached a market share of 0% at the moment. It may seem paradoxical that Blackberry reaches 0 market share even though it still sells smartphones, but it is certain that the manufacturer is very close to extinction at the moment.

7 years ago, the Blackberry operating system accounted for 20% of the smartphone market, but the decline of the Canadian company is approaching an end expected by many. In Q4 2015 Blackberry's market share was 0.2%, but it was reduced to 9% in a single year, sales falling more than 4 times even though the entire smartphone market registered an increase in sales.

Something similar happens with the Windows operating system, the sales of these smartphones falling more than 4 times, the market share having exactly the same drop. Unfortunately for Microsoft and Blackberry, things don't seem to be getting any better soon, so there is a chance that in Q4 2017 Blackberry won't be present at all in this top.
