iPhone Edition is going to be the name that iPhone 8 will have when it is launched on global markets, and this is because we are talking about an anniversary version of the iPhone. iPhone Edition would be a rather unusual name for an iPhone model, but the Apple company probably keeps the name iPhone 8 for a standard series model.
Considering the importance of the iPhone Edition, the Apple company is testing multiple models at the moment, the prototypes having both TFT LCD and OLED screens. Moreover, some versions of the iPhone Edition have a Home button integrated under the screen, while others do not have a Home button, and the 5.8-inch screen only displays images on a 5-inch portion.
The interesting part is that some iPhone Edition models have a case made of glass, while others have a ceramic or even aluminum case. Apple is testing a multitude of materials for the iPhone Edition, but for now it has not determined what the future anniversary iPhone will contain, so the production plans have not yet been made.

At the moment, the iPhone Edition is only in the testing phase of the components and it takes time for Apple to see if it can procure as many as it needs. After managing to establish the suppliers of components for the iPhone Edition, the Apple company will begin testing the design of the new terminal in order to initiate production.
Although the iPhone Edition is not 100% finished, the Apple company has for now finished developing the dual camera and the wireless charging system. Even the iPhone Edition screen is not 100% safe, Apple wanting to use an OLED screen, but everything depends on how the suppliers can deliver the components for this iPhone model.
Last year we published the article about additional iPhone 7s & iPhone 7s Plus models and the article about the 5 inch model equipped with the iSight Duo camera, but this 5 inch model would highly possibly be the "iPhone Edition" which is the premium model. Multiple prototype models exist for this model and the development continues to be carried out in parallel with EVT. The production level of development on various models are being done such as the models with IPS TFT, AMOLED, the model with or without home button, in addition to the models with a new glass, aluminum chassis, white ceramics, etc.
The iPhone Edition would be presented in September, together with the iPhone 7S, but the launch could take place a little later. For now, it is not known how much the Apple company would like to postpone the appearance of this product, but we are probably talking about a few months, if the iPhone Edition will not be sufficiently well prepared for the appearance.
