iPhone 8 – the screen will not be so curved

The iPhone 8 will not have a highly curved OLED screen, unlike the Samsung Galaxy Edge series, and iOS 11 will not have any special functions for it.

iPhone 8 it will have a screen whose curvature will not be equal to, or greater than, that existing in the Samsung Galaxy Edge terminals, according to some information that appeared today. Today's information is roughly the same as others that appeared a few days ago, which said that the iPhone 8 will not have a screen as curved as is being speculated.

Today's information regarding the iPhone 8, their source claims that this curvature of the screen will be small and, unlike the Samsung Galaxy Edge terminals, it will only be aesthetic. More precisely, Apple will not offer any important function for this part of the iPhone 8 screen, considering that it will not be as large as on Samsung terminals.

Those from Samsung presented the Galaxy Edge models as "special" precisely because of the large curvature, and there are dedicated functions for them, but the iPhone 8 will not have such a thing. Apple made the decision not to curve the iPhone 8 screen too much because of the difficulty of producing such a component, the company having problems buying normal OLED screens anyway.

iPhone 8 – the screen will not be curved outwards so much

Samsung will be the only manufacturer of these slightly curved OLED screens for the iPhone 8, but we knew this a few months ago, when details regarding Apple's choice appeared. Samsung is the only supplier of OLED screens for the iPhone 8 because it has the largest production capacity for such components, and Apple has no choice.

Although it was expected that Apple will use a curved screen for the iPhone 8, it seems that it will be flat, with the edges curved outwards, as it happens in the iPhone 7. The difference is that in the iPhone 8 this curvature will be more prominent than in the case of the iPhone 7, but not by much and this will not bring us new functions in iOS 11, as some would like.

"The curve will be gentler than screens in Samsung's Galaxy S7 Edge handsets. This is partly due to the challenges of making curved glass covers to match screens, according to the source. While the curved screen will allow a viewable area of about 5.2 inches and make the iPhone even sleeker, it will not offer significant new functions."

Apple has not yet finalized the design of the iPhone 8, so there is a possibility that some modifications will be implemented for the new smartphone. Regarding the screen, there is little chance that the iPhone 8 will have something else, but there is a possibility that in iOS 11 we will see special functions for this new type of OLED screen required by Apple.
