iPhone 8 could be launched without a key feature

iPhone 8 will be launched by the Apple company during the fall of this year, and some analysts believe that the new smartphone could reach the market without a key function. More precisely, the iPhone 8 could lose Touch ID if Apple fails to find an implementation that allows the integration of the fingerprint reader in the screen to enable their quick scanning when needed.

American analysts claim that if Apple does not solve the problems that prevent the integration of Touch ID under the iPhone 8 screen in the next month, then it could completely abandon this function. The solution proposed by the analysts seems at least stupid considering that there is currently no alternative for biometric security that Apple can use in the iPhone 8.

Analysts say, however, that Apple could have the idea of postponing the launch of the iPhone 8 until the Touch ID technology is fully ready for integration under the screen. At the moment it seems that the Apple partners working on the integration of Touch ID under the iPhone 8 screen would not have received firm orders to provide components for Apple to use this technology.

Apple currently does not have a facial recognition system strong enough to replace Touch ID in the iPhone 8, and iris scanning is out of the question. Despite the opinion of these analysts, it is still extremely unlikely that the iPhone 8 will remain without Touch ID because Apple does not have solutions that allow securing mobile payments as well as it is happening now.

"We believe Apple continues to work on solving its optical fingerprint issues. If it's able to solve the problems in the next month or so, it would likely place volume orders at that point. This would likely lead to a delay of the OLED iPhone launch, but we would not expect it to meaningfully affect volume for the cycle. If it's not able to fix the problems in that time frame, Apple may be forced to eliminate fingerprint sensing from the OLED iPhone altogether."
