Netflix in Romania will no longer be a dream that many will not be able to fulfill, but a reality, according to the well-known American company. During the conference for the presentation of the financial results for Q1 2017, those from Netflix announced that they will expand the availability of their services including for the Romanian language during this year, a date not yet known.
Those from Netflix have not explained very clearly what they intend to do for Romanians, but we are probably talking here about offering subtitles in Romanian for some films. This is most likely the first step that Netflix wants to take for Romanians, and the subtitling of films in Romanian is one of the biggest demands of the users of the series.
From subtitles in Romanian for movies, those at Netflix could move on to an interface in Romanian soon, to simplify access to the service. More than that, it is not excluded to see the first movies financed by Netflix in Romania, as they can bring original Netflix content in Romanian for us for the first time.
Of course, this last step is very far from being achieved at the moment, and Netflix will initially focus only on offering subtitles in Romanian. The decision of those at Netflix is made with the idea of attracting more customers to their services, but it is hard to say how many Romanians will be convinced to choose to use Netflix even with subtitles.
Netflix is one of the largest video-on-demand services in the world, but the big problem in Romania is that its multimedia library is available with limited content.
