iPhone 7 sales affected by unchanged design

iPhone 7 was launched last fall by Apple and although there was a lot of enthusiasm about the new product, at the beginning of this year things have "settled down". According to those from CIRP, sales of the iPhone 7 series have fallen due to Apple's decision not to change the design used in the iPhone 6.

Given the similarities in design, many Apple customers chose to buy the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6S instead of the iPhone 7. According to CIRP, these two previous models accounted for a third of total iPhone sales in Q1 2017, the highest percentage since Apple decided to launch two new iPhone models each year.

Neither the dual camera nor the new 3D Touch button seems to have convinced the world that the additional price charged by the Apple company for the iPhone 7 series compared to the previous one does not seem to have motivated the world. This was easy to guess, and that's because people also expect a design change every two years of iPhone releases.

Although people chose the old iPhone models in large numbers, the interesting part is that the Plus models were bought in a much higher percentage than in the past. In this idea, the average selling price of the iPhone has increased accordingly, with the Apple company remaining with more money from the sale of terminals with larger screens.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus would have been sold in equal percentages, and here we see an increase of 15% - 17% compared to previous models, where terminals with 4.7-inch screens dominated. The appetite of Apple customers for large screens is as clear as possible, and from here we also understand why Apple will launch a terminal with a 5.8-inch screen during this year.

"Despite upgraded features like each new flagship iPhone release, the legacy models accounted for almost a third of iPhones sold in the quarter, the highest percentage since Apple started releasing two new phones each fall in 2014. Sales of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus were about equal, which is good news for Apple. The large-format Plus models accounted for 41% of total sales, a steady increase since the launch of the original Plus model in 2015."
