iOS 11 brings support for FLAC and GIF images

iOS 11 brings after years and years of requests to support the playback of audio content in FLAC format, Apple finally giving in to the requests. Before you get really excited, it should be mentioned that the support for FLAC files is offered by iOS 11 only through the new Files application, so the files must be uploaded to a cloud service.

Whether you have them available in Dropbox, iCloud, Box, or any other service supported by the Files application in iOS 11, the files in FLAC format will be able to be played on the iPhone. Although we are not talking about general support throughout iOS 11 for playing files in FLC format, there is a possibility that by the fall things will change and even iTunes will offer support for this format.

Apart from that, the Photos app in iOS 11 finally has support for playing animated GIF images. In the animation below, made in iOS 11, you can see what it is about, that is, those images in GIF format that are very popular all over the world because they contain a few frames from various movies, or video clips, which are generally made for fun .

It's strange that Apple waited so long to provide support for GIF images, but it's good that iOS 11 finally comes with it.
