I noticed that iOS starts consuming less and less space since iOS 10.3 when Apple switched to the APFS system for file management, but with iOS 11 the improvements continue. On an iPhone 6S terminal with 16 GB of storage space, iOS 11 occupies up to 700 MB - 1 GB less space after installation, the released size being consistent.

We already know that iOS 11 no longer supports some iPhones and iPads that have 32-bit processors, but also that all applications that do not support 64-bit processors can no longer be run on terminals. This change allows Apple to increase the performance and security of iOS 11, but it seems that it is also the basis of this freed additional space.
We won't get an official explanation from Apple for this change in iOS 11 very soon, but that doesn't even matter. The good part is that Apple gives us pleasant surprises of this kind, and since many people are always looking for more storage space available in their devices, iOS 11 will give them a very pleasant surprise.
