Huawei dominates Apple and Samsung in sales

Huawei dominates Apple and Samsung in smartphone sales in China, Xiaomi also surpassing the American giant in T2 2017.

Huawei dominate Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), si Samsung in smartphone sales, according to Canalys who made this surprising revelation last night. Publishing the results of an analysis of the Chinese market, the people from Canalys claim that Huawei remained ahead of Apple and Samsung in terms of smartphone sales, seriously dominating the two big manufacturers, most likely thanks to the low prices for the products.

Huawei is the biggest seller of smartphones in Q2 2017 in China, maintaining its dominance over the market, while Xiaomi managed to surpass Apple in sales. Huawei sold 23 million smartphones in China in Q2 2017, a substantial number that represents about half of the global sales of iPhone terminals that analysts expect Apple to announce for the same fiscal quarter.

Huawei continued to surpass Oppo in smartphone sales, this manufacturer totaling 21 million units sold in T2 2017 and occupying the second position. Vivo remains in the third position in the list of smartphone sellers in China with 16 million units sold, so Huawei still has a substantial lead over this competitor, even if compared to Oppo the distance has seriously reduced.

Huawei dominates Apple and Samsung in sales in China

Huawei dominates a market in which Apple held supremacy at one point, but in which it even lost third place, after Xiaomi managed to sell 15 million smartphones in T2 2017. An estimate of iPhone sales- units in China in Q2 2017 is not offered by Canalys, not even in the case of Samsung products, but Huawei certainly sold almost 2 times more units than the Americans or the Koreans.

Huawei managed to remain at the top of the smartphone market in China after sales recorded a 3% decrease compared to Q2 2016, reaching only 113 million units in Q2 2017. Huawei sells a lot of products in China, some copies of those launched by the Apple company, so the success has a fairly clear explanation, but that matters less for those from Cupertino now.

"Huawei shipped over 23 million to lead the market for the second quarter in a row. Oppo shipped just over 21 million and had to settle for second place, despite growing 37% year on year. Vivo held onto third place, shipping just over 16 million, losing ground on the leading pair during the quarter. Xiaomi was the standout vendor as it overtook Apple to take fourth place."

Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi and Apple together sold almost three quarters of all smartphones bought in China in T2 2017, and this means that iPhone sales would be very close to those of Xiaomi. Huawei managed to conquer the Chinese market, where Apple is struggling, and Samsung has been selling fewer and fewer products for several years, without being able to find a solution to the problem.
