iTunes finally lists 4K or HDR movies

iTunes finally enters "in line with the world", and this is because Apple finally displays the films as available in 4K and HDR format from its multimedia content platform. For now, only some of the movies that iTunes has in distribution can be downloaded in 4K or HDR format by users, they appear in these formats in the list of purchases made by users who have already bought movies.

iTunes lists the movies as available in 4K or HDR formats, but unfortunately they can also be downloaded in the normal 720p or 1080p formats. However, since Apple lists its movies as available in these two formats, it is very clear that it intends to allow their download in very high resolution, but also with a much better quality than HD or Full HD.

iTunes has this content strictly related to the ability of Apple products to play movies in the distribution formats, and if the iPhone or iPad can play 4K without problems, Apple TV cannot. In February, we learned that Apple is developing an Apple TV that can play 4K content, so the addition of movies in this format could be related to the launch of the future product, which could play them without problems.

iTunes will not allow you to download 4K or HDR content unless Apple has an Apple TV capable of playing this type of content without problems, and the Apple TV 4 does not fall into this category. However, if Apple TV 5 will be released in the fall and will be able to play 4K or HDR content without problems, then we will also see the first movies available at Apple in these two formats, to the satisfaction of users around the world.
