Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), prepares a very big surprise for many of the waiting users Apple TV 5 this year, the new product will have functions that many fans have been hoping for since 2015. More precisely, the Apple company will finally offer support in Apple TV 5 for playing 4K video clips, but the big surprise prepared by the Americans is offering support for HDR video playback.
Apple has so far refrained from implementing in Apple TV the option to play video content in 4K format, but it will do so and add "to the package" including support for HDR. It seems that some American journalists have already had the opportunity to see demonstrations of the Apple TV 5 that displays movies in HDR format, and some of them have been extremely pleasantly impressed by what Apple has achieved.

Apple will put a lot of emphasis on this type of video clips, and in the image below you can see the difference between standard and HDR movies, on TVs that support them. In essence, we are talking about a dramatic improvement in the quality of movies played on TVs with HDR support, and Apple TV 5 would allow playback without problems, with content probably also available in the iTunes Store.
Apple did not put much emphasis on HDR when it implemented the function for photos, but in the case of movies we are talking about a much bigger technological leap, so Apple will put it in the foreground. Apple TV 5 will be presented by the Apple company on September 12 together with the iPhone 8, so then we will learn more about what the American company has prepared for us.
